Stewardship
Based on our biblical understanding, ADRA Myanmar has developed appropriate and effective policies, which are in place that utilize the entrusted resources efficiently. We are open and transparent to our donors and partners within the ADRA network. As we embrace learning attitudes, the needs for improvements can be indentified and procedures changes on time. Our programs are designed according to our core competencies that enable us to meet communities’ needs in comprehensive manners.
Efficiency and Excellence
ADRA Myanmar is continuously striving for the efficient use of entrusted resources. Excellent work performance through committed and experienced staff at every level produces quality output. Through embraced learning attitudes, well developed monitoring and evaluation system facilitates suitable capacity building initiatives.
Accountability
ADRA Myanmar is accountable to all partners and staff at all levels. Our MEL (Monitoring and Evaluation for Learning) system provides reliable data that reports can be submitted on time. Our staff are committed and trained to work holistically toward livelihood improvements through participatory extension methods. Our learning attitude enables us to reflect on our own results, which will facilitate organizational capacity development.
Food Security and Livelihood
People who participated in ADRA’s projects are applying advanced and environment-friendly farming methods that provide opportunities for rural families and communities.
Feeding programs are also run for school children and vulnerable people suffering from HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, leprosy, as well as those who are handicapped or orphaned.

Disaster Mitigation
ADRA Myanmar has developed comprehensive disaster response plans and maintains effective communication between communities, local authorities and the government as well as to the worldwide ADRA network, the SDA church, and other stakeholders. ADRA is able to utilize these support networks in order to respond quickly and effectively to natural disasters nationwide.

Preventive and Primary Health Care
Rural families are showing improvements in their lifestyles with regard to health, hygiene and nutrition to such extent that all people live healthier and more productive lives. The access to basic and essential primary health care services is additionally improving the health status of all but especially of the most vulnerable groups.


Education
ADRA is committed to improving the future of children. Projects focused on education include fee assistance, provision/replacement of educational supplies for individuals and schools, including text books, black boards, chair and desks, uniforms and stationary.
Vocational training is also a strong part of ADRA’s program. Training in sewing, weaving, food production, carpentry, mechanics and welding is providing enhanced employment and income earning opportunities for many.

Infrastructure
In collaboration with World Food Program “Food for Work”, ADRA is helping improve infrastructure in Shan State and Ayeyarwaddy Division by building bridges, improving access and building schools. Bridges and roads can dramatically improve access, saving time, and even lives.

Water and Sanitation
Rural communities and individuals benefiting though ADRA’s water and sanitation projects are accessing adequate clean water all year around and are able to use and maintain wells, water storages, and sanitary installations in sustainable manner. Education on health, hygiene and sanitation is also an important part of these projects.
